About Matri Pitri Vandana Assam 

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday urged the state government employees to spend quality time with their family members on January 6 and 7 under Matri Pitri Vandana designated as “special holidays". The state government had approved the decision to allow special leave for its employees so that they can spend quality time with their parents or in-laws. Further, the Government will scrutinize the nature of the leaves themselves through a portal visitparents.assamgovcalendars.in to Online Apply for Assam Govt Special Leave on visitparents portal.

Norms for Special Two days CL or Leave  

The norms include, the employees having to write an application to their reporting head to avail the leave on February 9 and February 12. After taking the leaves, they will have to submit the photograph of them spending time with their parents or elderly guardians. A web portal namely Matri Pitri Vandana already been opened with the link visitparents.assamgovcalendars.in where they have to submit the photographs. If an employee fails to submit photos, these two days will be considered casual leaves from their designated leaves.

"While 8th January is a second Saturday and 9th January is a Sunday. The Government has approved two days of headquarters leave for all on January 6th and 7th. 

Who Can Avail Assam Govt Special Leave?

• The leave is for all, from the Ministers to the Grade IV employees. However, the leave is only for those whose parents or parents-in-law are alive and who are willing to visit them.

• All the State Govt. employees who are engaged in essential services like Police, Fire & Emergency Services, Disaster Management, Health & Family Welfare etc. are eligible to avail the 2 days causal leave in a phased manner

Official Notice about Special Leaves for Assam Govt Employee

The notification issued by the Assam government reads,

 “The Assam government is pleased to allow state government employees to avail casual leave on January 6 and 7, 2022, suffixing the two holidays, the 8th and 9th of January 2022, being the 2nd Saturday and Sunday, so as to enable them to spend the aforesaid days with their living parents and parents-in-law."

However, it would be mandatory to flourish photographs showing that they stayed with the parents during the holidays as proof. Those seeking the holidays will have to apply for leave prior.
