22000 Girl Students To Be Awarded With Scooty under Pragyan Bharati Scheme 

22,000 girl students who secured first division in higher secondary final examination 2020 will be awarded with 'scooties' by Assam Government under Pragyan Bharati Scheme this year.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the petrol-run scooties will be distributed by 15th October 2020 under Pragyan Bharati Scheme.

One who needs electric scooties, can apply for the same through www.sebaonline.org.

The government will be launching a new website, sebaonline.org, whereby, the students may choose to mention their choice of variant.

However, if anybody fails to do so, she will be awarded the automatic petrol scooty, he added.

The scooties will cost Rs. 50-55 thousand each. It should be mentioned that the students will have to bear the cost of registration and will not be able to sell those for 3 years.

The government, however, shall not provide the cost for registering the vehicles or helmets, Sarma said.
