Schools, colleges to reopen from August 15
Schools Will Reopen After August 2020: Union HRD Minister: More than 33 crore students have been waiting for the reopening of educational institutes. According to reports in May, it was speculated that schools and colleges would reopen in July with around 30 percent attendance and students till class 8 would stay at home.

Schools and colleges will reopen across India after August 2020, most probably after August 15, said Union HRD Minister Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal.
In an interview on June 3 with BBC Hindi, he revealed that schools and colleges which have remained closed since around March 16 will reopen after August 2020. Around 33 crore students have been waiting for school reopening news to dispel their doubts.

Pokhriyal also said that educational institutes would reopen in a phased manner; Green and Orange zones would reopen their institutes first and in order to maintain strict social distancing norms they would take place in two shifts.
UGC, NCERT guidelines to be followed for safety when schools reopen. The guidelines would help students, teachers and parents to ensure safety while schools reopen amid a pandemic.
According to the reports, all teachers would wear masks, thermal scanners would be installed in schools, only two students would be allowed to sit on three-seater benches. Moreover, the safety guidelines would also put up in several locations in each school and the DM and SDM of each area would further fine-tune them as necessary.
The union minister said that the schools and colleges would be reopened after August 2020, possibly even after August 15, 2020. Besides that, he revealed that the administration is trying to declare all the results of examinations that took place in this session, by August 15.

CBSE board will conduct the pending examinations from July 1 to July 15, while ICSE/ISC exams will begin from July 1 till July 12. Meanwhile, NEET is also scheduled to be held on July 26 and JEE will be conducted from July 18 to July 23.
Schools, colleges and educational institutes were closed in mid-March to curb the spread of coronavirus among students. As per earlier reports surfaced in May, schools and colleges were decided to reopen in July with 30 percent attendance and with younger students till class 8 remaining at home.
