Lockdown Extension: Schools, Colleges & Coaching Centres To Remain Shut Till 3rd May

In view of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in India Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the lockdown will have to be extended till the 3rd May 2020 address to the nation on 14th April 2020.PM Modi also declared that select necessary activities will be allowed to be opened up from April 20, 2020, in identified areas of the country.



Amid this lockdown, all educational institutes including schools, colleges, and coaching centers will remain closed, for the safety of students as well as the general public. Now the students whose annual board examinations are yet to be completed will have to wait till next month


In the notice released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Guideline number 6 states, "All education, training, coaching institutions, etc. shall remain closed.


However, government order states "Online teaching/ distance learning to be encouraged."


It emphasizes on the use of online teaching or distance learning via various available resources.


Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the national board which regulates the secondary and higher secondary education in the country along with the organization of annual certificate examinations, had earlier decided to conduct only the important pending examinations. With that, the Board will now conduct some Class 12 examinations (also pending examinations of Class 10 students of northeast Delhi) across the country, which will be intimated to the students 10 days in advance, according to a statement released by the Board

Alternative Academic Calendar For Class 1-12 Is Being Developed

In the letter addressed to school heads, CBSE Chairperson Anita Karwal said, "The alternative academic calendar for students of classes 1 to 12 which is being developed by NCERT. We will be sharing this with you shortly. This calendar is specially developed around activities that will help attain Learning Outcomes in a joyful manner. This calendar also suggests ways and means to use technology to aid and facilitate this process of learning."

She also asked to use digital learning platforms extensively. " Aside from the NCERT calendar, during these difficult times, teaching and learning can also continue with the help of comprehensive digital learning platforms focused on providing curriculum-linked and curated content", she said.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to promote all class 1 to 8 students to the next grade or class without exams in view of COVID-19 pandemic. Similarly, Students in class 9 and 11 will be promoted on the basis of internal assessments of the school including projects, periodic tests, term exams, etc. 


CBSE To Conduct Class 10, 12 Board Exams For Only 29 Main Subjects

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct class 10 and 12 examinations for only 29 main subjects announced by Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank today i.e. on 01-04-2020.
