Applications are invited by IIT Guwahati for Recruitment of Project Officer/Junior Project Officer. Applications are invited on plain paper for the following assignment on a purely time bound Project undertaken in the various Departments / Centres / Schools of the Institute. National Digital Library of India (NDLI), a project of MHRD and executed by IIT Kharagpur, wishes to recruit project staff in the position of Project Officer/Junior Project Officer – Library Science for its North East Regional Centre (NDLI-NERC) located at IIT Guwahati.

Education Qualification:
Bachelors in any subject with Masters in Library and Information Science
Relevant Experience:
In some of the following preferably in digital library/repository domain:
- Metadata standards and schemas (Generic and Domain-specific)
- Large volume metadata annotation and curation for a digital library/repository using services programmers
- DDC/LCC/LCSH/MeSH Classification Scheme
- MARC/SIP/AIP/XML data handling
- Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository
- Linux environment/commands, TeamViewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint 1.2.7. Setting up Institutional Digital Repository with content management software like DSpace, EPrint, etc.
- Planning, structuring, and operations, coordination of large volume metadata annotation/curation work for a digital library
- Copyright issues for digital library/repository
- Conduct user training or similar events on digital library
Experience Level:
Project Officer:
2 years’ hands-on experience out of which at least 1 year in some of the above areas in digital library/repository domain
Consolidated Compensation: Upto Rs.30000(depending upon qualification & experience)
Junior Project Officer:
1 year’s hands-on experience in some of above areas or 1 year’s working experience in a reputed library or Fresher with high academic achievement and competence in Linux environment/commands, TeamViewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Salary r: Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 25,000/- per month depending on experience and competency level
Job Location: Guwahati
Other benefits: House Rent Allowance over and above consolidated salary as per Project norm.
