Teaching Posts
1. Professor:
Subjects :
Economics, Performing Arts, Philosophy, Social Work, Sociology and Yogic
Science & Naturopathy
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
(a)
(i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
(ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions, including experience of guiding candidates for research at the doctoral level.
(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and
technology-mediated teaching-learning process.
(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) as per the
Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC’s revised Regulation of minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers.
OR
(b) An outstanding professional with an established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.
2. Associate Professor:
Subjects :
Economics, Performing Arts, Philosophy, Social Work, and Yogic
Science and Naturopathy.
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
(i) Good academic record with a Ph. D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
(ii) A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
(iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research papers, in the subject concerned.
(iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
(v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) as per the Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC’s revised Regulation of minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers.
3. Assistant Professor (Regular basis):
Subjects :
Economics, English, Performing Arts (Dance/Drama/Music), and Applied Psychology.
Pay : UGC Scale/ Basic + GP.
Education Qualifications:
As per the UGC norms, In the case of Assistant Professor (Regular basis) candidates with a Ph.D. along with NET/SLET, shall be preferred.
Minimum qualification and experience:
(i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or Ph.D. Degree (under the new regulation of UGC)
(iii) Candidates having Ph.D. shall be preferred.

Eligibility to apply for the posts:
1. The Applicant must be a citizen of India.
2. He/she must be medically fit both in mind and in body-a certificate duly signed by the District Medical Officer, Nagaon District or any competent Registered Medical Officer, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, shall have to be produced by any person who would be appointed as a Teacher, before/she is allowed to join.
3. A certificate about a good character from the Head of the Institution last attended or served shall accompany an application for any post of a Teacher.
4. The candidate must possess the minimum qualifications for the post.
5. The upper age limit of the candidates shall be as per the Govt. of Assam rules / norms.
6. Retired Professor/Associate Professor upto the age of 63 years may also apply for the posts of Professor.
Application Fee :
Candidates are required to pay an amount of Rs. 2,000.00 (Rupees two thousand) only for teaching post by demand draft in favor of “REGISTRAR, MAHAPURUSHA SRIMANTA SANKARADEVA VISWAVIDYALAYA” payable at “State Bank of India, Nagaon Main Branch (IFSC: SBIN0000146)” or Cash at Accounts Branch of the University as application fees for the post.

Candidate should send the Application form in Prescribe format which may be downloaded from the University website i.e., www.mssv.co.in.They send Completed application in the prescribed form along with necessary enclosures within 01-07-2019 to the following address.

N.B.:
i. Those who are willing to apply more than one post must submit the separate form with separate application fees.
ii. The name of the post and department must be written on the envelope of the application.
iii. Those in employment should submit their applications through proper channel up are submit the NOC from the authority concern.
iv. Near fulfillment of qualification will not entitle an applicant for inviting to the interview.
v. The University reserves the right to select candidates for appointment to the above-mentioned posts on the basis of its immediate requirements.
vi. Canvassing directly or indirectly shall disqualify a candidate.
vii. No TA/DA will be provided by the University for attending the interview.
viii. Those candidates who have already applied for the post of Professor in Economics and Philosophy need not require to apply.
3. Conditions to be fulfilled after the appointment:
a) A person appointed to the post of a Teacher join within one month from the date of issue of the appointment order, failing which the appointment order is liable to be canceled, provided that in exceptional circumstances, the Vice-Chancellor may extend this period.
b) Before a person appointed to the post of a Teacher joins in his/her post, he/she shall execute an agreement with the university that he/she shall strictly abide by the provisions of the Acts and the Ordinances. A Teacher shall also undertake in the agreement to submit to the Vice-Chancellor a self-appraisal report of his/her performance annually.
c) The person, after joining the post of Teacher, will be subjected to the provisions of the MSSV Teachers’ Service Conditions Ordinance and Officer to be provisions of MSSV Employees’ Service Conditions Ordinance, etc.
