Applications are invited for NGO North East Network for the post of Finance Manager/HR manager/Accounts Officer. NEN also invites interested individuals to volunteer for various field related activities within its thematic areas, especially in terms of research and documentation. At present we are looking for interns familiar with social justice issues for our fact finding activities. Your contribution, time and energy to NEN will help expand our work and strengthen our mission to support programmes that promote women’s human rights and gender justice.

1.Finance and Accounts Manager 

Total Posts – 2

The Finance and Accounts Manager will be responsible for


  • Finalisation of accounts and ensure timely release of funds to State Offices as per Budget.
  • Ensure timely submission of Accounts by the various offices  and  submission of Utilisation Certificates, Timely reconciliation of accounts and submission of financial progress reports as and when required.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of stock and fixed assets registers, Supervising the work of the other accounts subordinates in all accounts related work.
  • Exercise general supervision over the funds of NEN and ensure that the limit fixed by the applicable rules for recurring and non-recurring expenditure for a year is not exceeded, and that all allocations are expended for the purposes for which they are granted or allotted.
  • Keep watch on the state of the cash and bank balances.
  • Have the accounts of the NEN  audited regularly. Inspect the accounts of branch/state offices  periodically and ensure that the books of records are maintained properly.
  • Ensure that the accounts and finance related registers of NEN are maintained up-to-date and that the stocks of assets are properly maintained and recorded.
  • Ensure that all Financial Rules and Regulations are strictly adhered to in all branch/state offices. Preparation of various reports and submission of financial statements to the donors, regulators, etc.

Education Qualifications and Experience:-


  1. Post Graduate in Commerce from any recognized university/CA Inter passed.
  2. Minimum 3-4 years’ experience of working in NGO/society, in the field of accounting, budgeting, financial management, taxation and – Knowledge of Foreign Contribution Regulations Rules is essential.
  3. Conversant in MS Office applications (Excel & Word) is a must.
  4. Sound working knowledge in Tally ERP 9 in project accounting. – Experience in  financial operations of non profit organisations is preferred.

2. Human Resource Manager

The HR Manager will be responsible for


  • Creating and revising job descriptions, developing, analyzing, and updating the organisation’s salary budget.
  • Developing, analyzing and updating the organisation’s evaluation program.
  • Developing, revising, and recommending personnel policies and procedures .
  • Maintaining and revising the organisation’s handbook on policies and procedures,Maintaining affirmative action programs.
  • Overseeing recruitment efforts for all personnel, including writing and placing job ads, Conducting new employee orientations and employee relations counseling.
  • Overseeing exit interviews , maintaining department records and reports.
  • Participating in administrative staff meetings , maintaining organisation directory and other organizational charts.
  • Recommending new policies, approaches, and procedures, ensure HR policies and compliance are applied consistently and comprehensively and that documentation is maintained.
  • Advise supervisors and employees on policies and procedures related to personnel management; providing recommendations for training or additional actions as needed.
  • Overseeing Finance staff in preparation, tracking and reporting of payroll and maintaining and updating personnel files.
  • Ensuring employee evaluations are conducted and documented.

Required Qualifications and Experience


  1. Post Graduate in HR Management from recognized  university/institute.
  2. Minimum  2-3 years’ experience of working in NGO/society, in the field of HR,administration and budgeting.
  3. Knowledge of Employees Provident Fund Rules, Gratuity Rules, Labour Relations, Insurance, etc   is essential.
  4. Conversant in MS Office applications (Excel & Word) is a must.
  5. Sound working knowledge in preparing Payrolls, preparing of employment contracts, etc is essential.
  6. Conversant with HR methodology related to administration, recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, employee relations, training and labor laws.
